Watercolor

Years ago I read a book with a very interesting passage, unfortunately I did not write down the book or the author but I scribbled down the words that touched my heart.

"Tell me what else should I have done? Doesn't everything die at last and too soon? Tell me, what is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life."

I have no clue as to why the words touched me so, or why I scratched them below a Death-head moth, as usual I am clueless about most everything.
What I do know is that when other people question the things I do, I tell them, "because I am an artist". What an excellent phrase and a superb catch-all for all sorts of weirdness and mis-behavior. I highly recommend it.
The above painting is 4x6 inches and will available, matted and framed, in my Etsy shop.

forgot

Almost forgot the page of Hemi, Pig and Hannity. Pig and Mr. Tinky are best buddies. Hemi is the killing nightmare of all field mice and voles and Hannity is going to be one huge cat, right now he is in a slinky stage, he is a good boy though.

finally

Burgess was a big help with this, (sarcasm). Thank heavens the little pest is napping right now.
Sorry it took so long to finish posting it, geez, what a slacker.

Sketchbook project

Sometime last summer, July maybe? Another artist (Gennine.com) mentioned a traveling sketchbook project sponsored by the Art House Co-op. You can find information about it at www.thesketchbookproject.com.

My book has an accordion fold inside instead of using the original paper in the provided sketchbook.

Here are the first pictures of it, I will post more of the finished book.

In the middle of this page is an envelope with a small watercolor of "my" valley inserted.

This is the little watercolor in the envelope, it is attached with velvet ribbon.

Art

Alison Armstrong is a photo collage artist and does crazy wonderful work. The piece below is "House on Lavender Street". It is a new acquisition for my bedroom, the room makes me happy every morning and this collage is fantastic. Love Love it. And this wonderful little print is by Jessica Doyle of Handmadecloud.com she also has an etsy shop. Her work is wonderful and unique. She is a true artist type, not a copyist, but someone whos work seems to be an extension of herself and her experiences. This one is my favorite of hers, I just love it and it goes wonderfully in my new favorite room.
Cool, huh?

1-1-11

One singular day.

One which will never come again.

One blip in the eternities.

One time to start anew.

One bundle, of measured time.

One unit.

One year.

One chance to

Once again, use 365 days of potential.
